It only took a year to get insurance for my son, but he finally has it back.
No warning or anything before they took it away, so if your child is on TennCare, be wary – they’re supposed to send a letter so you can re-up, but they never did. Carla got one, with only a few days to resubmit her information, but I didn’t – she lives in a different county, though. Freaking ridiculous – I filled out the application 17x, went down there, was told to go fill out a different application, and it took calling our Representative and having him call him that finally got me a phone interview because I’m disabled.
So if you’re having issues, call your representative. They will call you back. >_<
Yet another good reason to homeschool – possible that half the country will get the swine flu, which is a scary thing. Especially when I’m still waiting to hear back from DHS over two weeks later and my son still doesn’t have insurance. =/
I called after mom said she’d called on Friday, but didn’t get an answer. And we went to the lake but my car broke down and so I don’t have one – the lights stay on even though they aren’t on and kill the battery. I see a new PCP tomorrow after the total mess that has happened with the one I’ve had, so I hope that goes well, and I guess I just need to keep an eye out for the vaccine release, and to see if it’s safe… I don’t like the thought of a vaccine that isn’t common, but maybe it will test out okay.
And it’s really messed up that doctors might refuse the H1N1 vaccine – some places will fine $1000 a day for that. It makes me nervous because I think that the trials will be rushed… it’s already fall, and there have been several drugs in the past where they didn’t know the consequences until many years later.
Do not – I repeat – do NOT actually go visit the site, just watch the video explaining why not to do it. The site is cars and it is a dot gov (I am not linking to it so that noone accidentally goes to it, but yet another sign our government is going more and more big brother every day. Jeez… freaking scary… noone ever reads those ‘agree’ things of pages and pages of terms.
This is a screencap of what you’re agreeing to – that you now have a government owned computer, and no privacy… clearly stated… I believe they are trying to take over all the auto dealers… more socialism. And most places have already taken advantage of this program, so well… Welcome back to 1984 Russia people. Wake up and CARE about what your government is doing.
New article on whether the Microsoft Office Web version that is coming out will kill Google Docs. As much as I dislike Windows in general and anything Microsoft based, I will most likely try it just to see how it works and how well. I doubt that people will stop using Google Docs unless they decide to remove it (in which case I should grab all my documents off of there first) because there will always be open source supporters, and several people only use Google for email, so it’s easy and right there. It does have some issues – It won’t go past a certain amount of text or it becomes extremely slow and then crashes – but it has advantages, where multiple people can edit at the same time. Since Microsoft will not be offering it for free, really, unless you’re buying another product, then I doubt I’ll be switching over, since I’ve had problems with Office that are far worse than Google Docs. Crashing, losing half of what I’ve worked on, eating up all the memory so everything runs slow… these are not reasons to me to PAY for something. And Google Docs has worked for me, for what I need it for. Longer documents have had to be split up, but that’s fine to at least have them online and shared, just like I can’t email huge documents to others, so the fact that it’s incorporated into my e-mail and free and does what I want… well, it’s going to be hard to sell me on something else. So I think these news stories about how Google Docs is going to go away because of the new Microsoft Office are unfounded. There are still a LOT of people who don’t own any sort of Microsoft Office and don’t plan on upgrading because if they were getting by without it before, who needs to spend hundreds of dollars for it?
Sure, competition is great, but it’s not really a competition when one is free and one costs a lot of money, plus you have to hope the install works, and it’s proprietary to Windows operating systems when more people are moving to Linux as an alternative. I’m only going to try the free version that is on the Microsoft server, but I doubt that will be up for long, and I’m only trying it so I can give a decent opinion on it regardless of my operating system.
Honestly, how do people still get away with this horrid type of gay bashing? Allow them to exist? Maybe people like you shouldn’t be allowed to exist! And it promotes marrying younger and polygamy? I would LOVE to see what type of logic led you to that, since most gay couples I know that are in committed relationships despite being denied rights that, as Americans, they are supposed to have… are older than I am, usually 40+. The people I know who are dating a significant other half their age are, OH MY GOD, straight. So yeah… I’d realllllllly love to see some stats on that or at least the logic chart of idiocy. I hope this story gets more coverage and tanks your career.
And your statement is WRONG, by the way. You say you’re allowing them to exist but not giving them any special designation? Hate to tell you… No, wait, I don’t hate to tell you, but you are giving them a special designation by the very fact they have less rights. That puts them in a different designation than straight Americans with full rights… an entire different category. Sounds to me like you needs to do ya some book learnings, mister.
