#134 – More Mac Madness

So, Hmmm. Apple forbids use of word Android due to competition. o_O

They won’t approve an application that is for sale on both platforms if the developer states that he won an award for it on the Android platform. The closed source vs open source battle is still alive and kicking, it seems.

Me? I find it ridiculous. And, just to be clear, I use both an Android phone and an iPhone. I am a supporter of open source, and if I begin releasing apps again, it will likely be for Android first, then iPhone second. First off, the fee is 1/4 the price, and they don’t band words. *shakes head* Not a great move, Apple. If I hadn’t already been disappointed by that non-portable, non-wifi-streaming giant iPhone re-release you’re calling the iPad, I would have been even more disappointed now…

I can upgrade phones next month on the account on which I use the iPhone, and I’ll be upgrading to another phone. I’ll keep the iPhone for the apps I have on it, and update it via wireless and iTunes, but the keyboard is fairly horrid on it, and since I use my phone for writing, it simply doesn’t fulfill the roles I intended it for. It does fulfill many other roles that I never considered, so it’s useful… but not as my wireless phone carrier.
