#40 – H1N1

We’ve been sick… but especially mom, and her doctor thinks it may be the swine flu. We should find out today, but I’m freaked out. One of the reasons I was glad I could homeschool Gryphon this year was that he wouldn’t get exposed to disease as much. It’s not as if we don’t go places, but it’s not the same as being exposed to hundreds of germy kids every day. At least he has insurance now, and it isn’t as if we didn’t know of the virus, but gah…

Gryphon was sick and laying down yesterday, and didn’t go to kung fu, which he normally loves, and I’ve been downing cough syrup with no effect for a week. D=

Edit: It isn’t the swine flu. And censorship lives. >_<

I suppose I’ll never use Flickr if that’s the way they are. Deleting everything that’s with them… which is fine. I pay money for a server and don’t need their crappy service anyhow. I would imagine a lot of people won’t bother with them now, but that’s what they deserve – that image was definitely ‘fair use’ and not a copyright infringement, but they’re politically influenced, so… Meh.

#35 – Swine Flu / H1N1

Yet another good reason to homeschool – possible that half the country will get the swine flu, which is a scary thing. Especially when I’m still waiting to hear back from DHS over two weeks later and my son still doesn’t have insurance. =/

I called after mom said she’d called on Friday, but didn’t get an answer. And we went to the lake but my car broke down and so I don’t have one – the lights stay on even though they aren’t on and kill the battery. I see a new PCP tomorrow after the total mess that has happened with the one I’ve had, so I hope that goes well, and I guess I just need to keep an eye out for the vaccine release, and to see if it’s safe… I don’t like the thought of a vaccine that isn’t common, but maybe it will test out okay.

And it’s really messed up that doctors might refuse the H1N1 vaccine – some places will fine $1000 a day for that. It makes me nervous because I think that the trials will be rushed… it’s already fall, and there have been several drugs in the past where they didn’t know the consequences until many years later.
