Linux Enthusiasts Unite!
You can ask my best friend after I got her away from Windows and onto linux, about how much
ubuntu rocks. I'm a big fan of how easy a transition it makes for people who have no experience, and she is very happy with the experience. It's nice to find another blogger who is an open source enthusiast. Open Source is a great passion of mine and has been for years. Ravi has all sorts of tech information and posts up, yay for a fellow geek! I'm really curious how he got that translate button, though. Since I'm studying Japanese, that's just awesome. ^_^
Politics Geekdom
Terrorism seems like some odd anchor text to use for a blog, but nonetheless, this was an interesting read, and I was especially glad to see that he'd talked about Ubuntu, since I got my best friend on this operating system to get her away from Windows, and she hasn't looked back. It's so user friendly for non geeks, and just works, and my son loves the games he can play over there. They're running Wine as well, for emulating Windows programs. The thing about imprinted M&Ms amused me, but also, I wanted to add that Ubuntu is bootable from cd, so even if you don't have a hard drive, or don't want to install it, you can use it. Great solution for those geeks with no hard drive who don't want to use Knoppix.
This blogger also talks about politics and other areas in some of his posts, so we have that in common. I feel that too many are apathetic about everything going on, so it's always a good thing to see that.
